Event Description:
Chances are each and every one of us has personally been affected by cancer at some point in our lives. Receiving the news that you or a loved one has been diagnosed with cancer is one of the most powerful, life changing words you may ever hear and ones that bring an instant flood of frightening emotions. While there is no magic wand to wave to ease the emotional pain or to find a cure, there is help and support available to assist you or a loved one during this very trying time.
Join us at this upcoming program to learn more about The Cancer Support Center, a non-profit organization located in Homewood and Mokena, to discover the FREE supportive services provided to anyone impacted by a cancer diagnosis. We will learn about the therapeutic services available such as individual counseling, networking groups and support groups as well as a wide array of wellness programs such as yoga, meditation, art therapy, nutrition classes and educational workshops. The Center also houses a wig boutique for those who have lost their hair due to treatment, provided to participants free of charge. This presentation will be provided by The Cancer Support Center’s Clinical Program Director, Kathleen Daly.
