Elf, The Musical
Event Description:
Providence Catholic High School's Theatre Department presents Elf, The Musical on November 1 at 7:00 p.m. at Billie Limacher Theatre at Bicentennial Park, 201 W Jefferson St. in Joliet. The show will also run on November 2 at 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., and a matinee November 3 at 3:00 p.m.
"This is such a fun, family-oriented show," says director, Dr. Stacy Eckert. "The cast, crew and pit have been working like elves! It's a must-see as we usher in the Christmas season."
Join us as we journey with Buddy, a young orphan, who mistakenly crawls into Santa's bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole. Raised as an elf, his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth that he isn't like the other elves. With Santa's permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity.
The musical is based on the book by Thomas Meehan and Bob Martin, and features music by Matthew Sklar, and lyrics by Chad Beguel. It's based upon the New Line Cinema film written by David Berenbaum, originally produced by Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures in association with Unique Features.
Tickets are available online for $9.00 at pchstheatre.brownpapertickets.com. Further ticket information is available at (815) 717-3323 or theatre@providencecatholic.org.
