“One Thing: Speak Up, Speak Out”
In Support of Domestic Violence Prevention Awareness Month
The New Lenox Safe Community Coalition is pleased to announce a FREE virtual program entitled “One Thing: Speak Up, Speak Out.” This program is a collaborative effort between our Domestic Violence Prevention Task Group and Groundwork – Guardian Angel Community Services. The main presentation will be held from 7:00pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 via WebEx. Amirrah Abou-Youssef, MA, CDVP, Program Support Specialist, Groundwork – Guardian Angel Community Services will be the main presenter for this event. Ms. Abou-Youssef has been with GACS for 11 years and began as a volunteer in 2010 in the Sexual Assault Services Program. Ms. Abou-Youssef earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Illinois in 2010 and her Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Counseling from the Adler School of Professional Psychology in 2012. Ms. Abou-Youssef is a member of the Illinois Affiliation for Marriage and Family Therapy, Illinois Coalition Against Domestic Violence (ICADV) Program Council, the 12th Judicial Family Violence Coordinating Council, Will County Take Back the Night Steering Committee, Witches Night Out Committee, Will County All Our Kids Network (A-OK), the Grundy County Task Force, and Joliet Junior Woman's Club. Ms. Abou-Youssef also serves on the Funding Oversight Committee of ICADV. Ms. Abou-Youssef is an Illinois Certified Domestic Violence Professional (CDVP) and serves on the Board Affairs and Standards Committee.
